The Next Page

A neon sculpture shining a light on the words of women in prison - Lumiere Festival, Durham 2019

A commission from Artichoke, to collaborate with women at HMP Low Newton, in a series of writing workshops exploring their own poetic voices.

The phrase ‘Only You Can Write The Next Page’ was chosen by the group and placed on the outside of Durham Library as a thoughtful, inspiring message for the future.

Sculpted in neon by Neon Workshops, originally the artwork was placed on the outside of Durham Library, but is now a permanent fixture in the city centre after Lumiere Festival.
